    Engelska bruda?

Are there any other english brides to be out there planning their wedding to swedish men?

I'd love to hear from you!

Where are you living and what is the magical date?

Stockholm, 18th August 07 for us!

Saw the consultant the other day and have started our (not that John care) list which was really fun (see wrapit.co.uk if anyone is nosy)!

Going shopping on Saturday for stationary for the invites... feel a bit stressed.

And finally we're getting there, getting there, getting there? (you can't hear me sing)!
We have agreed on the two songs for the ceremony: Rod Stewart: Have I told you lately (that I love you) and Phil Collins: Groovy kind of love. They are being performed by a female singer we found (veeery nice person, great voice and not expensive at all!) and a guy playing the piano. It's going to be great!

And the cake is designed and ordered (is going to be great, too)!

We have met the photographer and talked about what we want and what we do not want. That was not too complicated as we want "normal" pictures. H2b is really happy that we don't take the pictures before the ceremony. I am also not allowed to sleep at home the night before?

Now I am trying to get h2b to proof read the ceremony and I am about to finish the first version of the fest program (I haven't forgotten you, 4:e Maj, it is coming, just a bit much to do at the moment?).

There are still so many small things to organise (unfortunately many small things = very time consuming). I still haven't got underwear (of course I have underwear, you know what I mean, no 'wedding night underwear' ), and I don't have shoes (h2b neither), or a cape, or a nice necklace and/or earrings,? The list is actually still quite long? Ah, but still 5 weeks and 3 days to go!

So, that's from me, for the time being. How is it going for you girls?

    Hi everyone!

sounds like you are very busy bee at the moment Nuärdetdags! it's all so exciting for us to hear too!

I've been busy too in fact. i've started working on our festprogram and vigsel program already!... m2b has been working till 10 every night so it's better to do that than stare at the tv!

need to find some shoes too. might look in a few weeks.

we've written out half of our invites inlcuding envelopes!...all the ones that'll go out early (distant travellers etc). not quite decided on the final guest list... its soooo hard!

we are translating some parts fo the ceremony inot english for our vigselfför. she is well prepared!

hmmm... can't think now if we've (read I've) done anything else...

hope you are all well and enjoying the plaiing still. i have a bit of a sore throat actually but i'll pass soon!

    NuÄrDetDags - exciting!

We had a meeting and sampled food at the reception on Saturday and got cake for more sampling on Sunday.
One of the artworkers where I work has design the wedding invitations which I submitted to the printers yesterday (will be ready on Monday).

Also met with my weddingplanner (John's cousin) and made an hour-by-hour schedules for the day!

Found out that we are having a woman priest (cool) although conservative/catholic John is not over the moon.

I will once the invites have gone out (next week) start looking for shoes, underware and a dress for the 13 year old bridesmade.

Feels like it's all coming together!

wow! you really have some exciting news there!

i am sitting right now struggling with who to invite from work... we are a group of about 15, 8 of us solcialise regularly... and i have at max 5 possible places... hmm.... so hard! i don't know what to do! and my bridesmaid has been away for ages and anyway isn't really so interested in helping with the planning... hmm...

John and I work for the same company (!) and have decided not to invite anyone of them as it would easily add 10-20 people. Most of them are ok with it.

terri - forgot to mention that I have the english vigeslakt used by the Swedish church in London if you need it.

    4:e Maj

whats a vigselekt? we will have a non-religous ceremony...

  • NuÄrDetDags

terri: 'Vigselakten' is the 'marriage ceremony', the procedure.

aha! then we don't need that in english! but thanks anyway! our VF is writing a lovely ceremony for us. we have read snippits of it to translate parts into enlgish. we said though that we don't want to read everything before hand so that there is still a surprise for us...
